چکیده

Due to the detrimental side-effects of synthetic pesticides, use nonchemical strategies in management insect pests is necessary. In present study, susceptibility fourteen eggplant cultivars green peach aphid (M. persicae) were investigated. According preliminary screening tests, ‘Long-Green’, ‘Ravaya’ and ‘Red-Round’ as relatively resistant, ‘White-Casper’ ‘Pearl-Round’ susceptible recognized. antixenosis highest hosting preference was documented for ‘White-Casper’. Population growth parameters used evaluation antibiosis. The lowest developmental time (d) observed on ‘Long-Green’ (4.33 d) (3.26 d), respectively. intrinsic rates population increase (rm) (0.384 d−1) (0.265 d−1), Significant differences height fresh dry weight infested noninfected plants. Plant resistance index (PRI), a simplified way assess all mechanisms, provides particular value determine proper resistant cultivar. greatest PRI ‘Long-Green’. general, showed least, displayed most among tested by M. persicae, which might be useful integrated this pest.

Insecticide Resistance Mechanisms in the Green Peach Aphid Myzus persicae (Hemiptera: Aphididae) II: Costs and Benefits

BACKGROUND Among herbivorous insects that have exploited agro-ecosystems, the peach-potato aphid, Myzus persicae, is recognized as one of the most important agricultural pests worldwide. Uses over 400 plant species and has evolved different insecticides resistance mechanisms. As M. persicae feeds upon a huge diversity of hosts, it has been exposed to a wide variety of plant allelochemicals, whi...

Insecticide Resistance Mechanisms in the Green Peach Aphid Myzus persicae (Hemiptera: Aphididae) I: A Transcriptomic Survey

BACKGROUND Insecticide resistance is one of the best examples of rapid micro-evolution found in nature. Since the development of the first synthetic insecticide in 1939, humans have invested considerable effort to stay ahead of resistance phenotypes that repeatedly develop in insects. Aphids are a group of insects that have become global pests in agriculture and frequently exhibit insecticide r...

Microsatellite isolation, linkage group identification and determination of recombination frequency in the peach-potato aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae).

Fifteen polymorphic microsatellite markers were used to establish linkage groups and relative rates of recombination in male and female Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae) (peach-potato aphid). We cloned nine markers from M. persicae and for these we report primer sequences and levels of allelic diversity and heterozygosity in four Australian M. persicae populations. Of the remaining...

the seasonal population fluctuation of the green peach aphid, myzus persicae sulzer (hom., aphididae) on some potato cultivars in ardabil

abstract myzus persicae sulzer is one of the serious pests in potato fields which has the ability of transmitting several viruses to the potato crop. throughout summer of 2008, field studies were carried out in ardabil to evaluate the seasonal population fluctuation of this aphid on 10 potato cultivars: granola, satina, moren, aozonia, cosima, agria, cosmos, kondor, diamant and savalan. density...

Myzus persicae Sulzer aphid contains oxylipins that

Oxylipins are oxygenated fatty acids and their derivatives that play key roles in response to stress. They are widespread in many organisms including mammals or plants but are unknown in arthropods. In this study, we identified oxylipins in Myzys persicae Sulzer aphids reared on Vicia faba L. plants. Further experiments based on: (i) Radiolabelled substrate incubation with aphid extracts, and (...
